The annual INDStyle Awards and runway show returns Sept. 17 at AcA.

Each year The Independent celebrates style and local retailers in the way only we can — with equal parts function and panache — at The INDStyle Awards and runway show. On Sept. 17 a diverse group of fearless dressers, style makers and fashion-forward folks join eight local hot spots for the best in sartorial finds for a runway show that celebrates all that is fashion in Lafayette.

The always elegant folks at Moss Motors are the sponsor behind the show — a natural fit, says style maven Sharon Moss.

“We are a luxury brand of automobiles and that lends itself to fashion,” Moss says. “This show is cutting edge and so are our automobiles. Luxury brands and fashion go together.”

The love of fashion is a personal penchant of Moss, who began modeling at age 12 and is known for her often colorful, ever on-trend pieces and mile-high heels. The lineup of retailers for 2015 are a reflection of the diverse offerings for local shoppers from sweet boho shops and highend svelte women’s dressing to classic men’s suits and on-point pieces for ladies of every age. The stores rocking the runway include Bevo’s, Brother’s on the Blvd., Coco Eros, Hemline, Little Town, Park Lane, Shoe La La and Three Little Birds, with hair and makeup from the Aveda Institute.

The theme for the 2015 event promises to set the runway on fire with style beyond the cookie-cutter, rule-following variety. Style that tells the world something about who you are.

The vision of IND Media Co-Publisher Cherry Fisher May for this event has always been clear — to celebrate personal style through a variety of looks and to showcase the terrific local shopping options in Lafayette. In that spirit, the evening will also include emerging and innovative local designer Romey Roe with a collection of inspirations from the garden that is sure to leave us speechless.
