LillyBrave

LILLYBRAVE + TEENAGER

Friday, Sept 18

Feed & Seed

Doors: 9 p.m.

Feed N Seed proudly presents Lillybrave with Teenager. LillyBrave is a unique group of independent musicians who write and perform soulful melodic Pop songs. New Orleans-based synth-pop duo Teenager is Kyle Riche (vocals/guitar) and Matthew Cloutier (drums/programming). While the guys in Teenager consider themselves primarily a writing/producing team their aesthetic, live show, and song craft is that of an electro rock band.

Cedric Watson

CEDRIC WATSON & BIJOU CREOLE

Friday Sept. 18

Blue Moon Saloon

Doors: 9:30 p.m.

Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole resurrect the ancient sounds of the French and Spanish contra dance and bourré alongside the spiritual rhythms of the Congo tribes of West Africa. With an apparently bottomless repertoire of songs at his fingertips, Cedric plays everything from forgotten Creole melodies and obscure Dennis McGee reels to more modern Cajun and Zydeco songs, even occasionally throwing in a bluegrass fiddle tune or an old string band number. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he is also a prolific songwriter, writing almost all of his songs on his double row Hohner accordion. Cedric’s songs channel his diverse ancestry (African, French, Native American and Spanish) to create his own brand of sounds.

Cedryl Ballou

A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Cedryl Ballou began playing music at the tender age of five, making his professional debut as a drummer with his grandfather, legendary guitar pioneer Classie Ballou, at the age of 11. His future as a frontman was inevitable—both Cedryl’s father, Cedric Ballou, and step-grandfather, “Rockin’ Sidney” Simien, were successful touring musicians, and Cedryl grew up steeped in Creole music and culture.
