Perrilloux kicked off LSU football team

Ryan Perrilloux, LSU football's heir apparent quarterback, has been kicked off the team. LSU head coach Les Miles made the announcement this morning in a brief prepared statement . “Ryan was given every opportunity to be a part of this football team,” Miles says. “In the end, he didn’t’ fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete. We hope that a new beginning will benefit him. I wish Ryan and his family nothing but the best in any of his future endeavors.”

In 2005, Perrilloux was the nation’s top high school quarterback recruit. In his two years with LSU, Perrilloux has had a rollercoaster career and been the source of much anxiety for fans and coaches. He has shown flashes of brilliance on the field and last year started in place of an injured Matt Flynn to lead LSU in its SEC championship game win over Tennessee.  His success has also been plagued by off the field troubles. Perrilloux has been suspended from the team three times over the past year and had just recently been reinstated. LSU’s press release adds that Miles will have no further comment on the matter and that Perrilloux is expected to finish out the spring semester at LSU.
