Ursula Anderson, who came in third in the Oct. 24 primary election, has endorsed challenger Pat Lewis in the District 3 City-Parish Council runoff against incumbent Brandon Shelvin.

Lewis came in second in the primary, garnering 1,137 votes or 26 percent to Shelvin’s 1,686/38 percent. Anderson was close on the runoff candidates’ heels with 20 percent (872 votes).

“Throughout the campaign season, I have had the opportunity to communicate and interact with each of the candidates for the Lafayette City-Parish Council District 3 seat,” Anderson says in a press release announcing the endorsement. “Pat Lewis’s humbled spirit, integrity and desire to serve left a lasting impression on me. He values his role as a husband, father, businessman and I admire his goal in putting service back into Public Servant."

Shelvin is seeking a third term in office.
