The private investigator largely responsible for ousting District Attorney Mike Harson from office last year has begun serving his 6.5-year sentence at an Arkansas federal prison.

In June, just as his trial was about to commence, Robert Williamson pleaded guilty to his role in a years-long bribery scheme involving several employees within the district attorney’s office. Although Harson was never implicated, he was removed from office last year when voters chose Keith Stutes, a retired assistant district attorney.

According to The Daily Advertiser, the 67-year-old surrendered to authorities Nov. 12 and is being held at Forrest City (Arkansas) Low FCI, a low-security federal correctional institution.
