Mardi Gras started early in 2016 with a bevy of balls from saints and sinners at Krewe de Wideload to the masked elegance of Krewe Les Brigands de Lafitte and the rocking good time of Rio. Apollo celebrated year 40 with a Ruby Anniversary special that was as full of feathers and opulence as any year past. The folks at Washington Mardi Gas faced the great snow in (or sneax in, according to Lafayette revelers) with a bevy of Louisiana fun. While we may not be acclimated to below freezing temps and snow drifts, our coorespondents from D.C. sent proof we knew how to do more than make do.
