Bless her heart, state Rep. Beryl Amedee, a Houma Republican, just hasn’t learned her place. The freshman state lawmaker was given the opportunity Friday to deliver the opening prayer before the House and used it to castigate veteran lawmakers for their complicity in the state’s current budget crisis, asking them to “confess the sin of government’s bad stewardship to God and ask him for forgiveness.”
