IND L!VE offers highlights of the many live music events taking place around Acadiana this weekend.

SOUL SURVIVAL: GREAT VOICES IN GOSPEL, SOUL AND ZYDECO

The Louisiana Crossroads Series features Soul Survival, an exciting coming together of Gospel, Soul and Zydeco. Soul Survival builds musical and community bridges and connects amazing talent, never before heard together on stage. A collaboration of Gospel, Soul, Zydeco, and more, the event features Curley Taylor, Roddie Romero, Eric Adcock, Melody Guillory, and the Destiny of Faith & Progressive Baptist choirs. All of these performers have come together from different backgrounds with different beliefs, to form the common thread that is community, family, and Acadiana pride. This project showcases a wide range of musical genres, all of which are greatly loved but at times under-represented in Acadiana.

Gerard Delafose & The Zydeco Gators perform at Blue Moon Saloon on Thursday, May 19. The Zydeco Gators was established by Gerard Delafose in 2007. Gerard is a 3rd generation Zydeco Musician. He is the grandson of the late great John Delafose and the nephew of the legendary Geno Delafose.
