Amanda and Brandon had the Valentine’s Day date that went right. After talking online, Brandon persuaded Amanda to meet for the first time on the year’s most romantic day.

“I purposefully did not want to schedule a date on Valentine’s Day because if it didn’t go well, I would always remember that terrible Valentine’s Day, Amanda says. Brandon convinced me to meet him, saying if the date went well, I would always remember how wonderful that Valentine’s Day was … and he was right!”

The couple were married in June at Sunny Meade in Scott and both grew up in the area — Amanda a registered nurse for Lafayette Consolidated Government and Brandon a computer software engineer at CSE Icon.

“Our wedding day was perfect,” Amanda says. “It was the best day of my life. I got to marry the man of my dreams, and had both of our friends and families there to celebrate with us.”

Amanda began the day with hair and makeup by Joie De Vivre and the couple exchanged their vows at the gazebo at Sunny Meade with a short and sweet ceremony officiated by Gavin Choate, who is a long-time friend and coworker to Brandon. The reception followed indoors with food, dancing and fun.

“We loved our first dance. We actually took dance lessons before the wedding and had the dance coordinated by our dance instructor (Mrs. Lou) at Dance Around The World in Lafayette,” Amanda says. “It was a great and bonding experience to learn a dance together. We danced a viennese waltz to “A Thousand Years” by Jasmine Thompson. We hadn’t told anyone about our lessons so it was a surprise for all of our friends and family.”

The cake was a white-layered ruffle cake with Bavarian cream and strawberry and cream cheese filling alternating layers while the groom had a layered chocolate peanut butter cake both by Piece of Cake. Flowers were by Brandon’s aunt as well as It’s a Wrap.
