AcA accepting entries for postcard exhibit fundraiser

The Acadiana Center for the Arts is calling all artists and art lovers for its Postcard Exhibit for this Saturday’s ArtWalk.

The AcA is looking for small drawings, paintings, altered postcards, collage, manipulated photos, poems, old receipts or even dimensional work as long as the footprint is 4"x6" (or 6"x4").

Multiple submissions are encouraged and artists are asked to sign the back of the artwork. Each postcard will be priced for $25 and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Creative Relief Acadiana.

Creative Relief Louisiana provides emergency support to Baton Rouge and Acadiana based artists and non-profit arts organizations that have been impacted by the August 2016 flooding.

Funding will be provided by private donations and 100 percent of the proceeds will be distributed to artists and non-profit arts organizations in affected areas through an application process. AcA will absorb all administrative costs for donations and applications for the Acadiana area.

AcA will be collecting postcards at the front desk through Thursday, Sept. 8. at 4 p.m. The show will open at the Saturday, Sept.10 ArtWalk from 6 - 8:30 pm. For more information visit AcadianaCenterfortheArts.org.
