LA Pizza Mia is opening its second location at 190 Heritage Parkway in Broussard on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The pizzeria will offer 10-inch personal, and eventually 16-inch large pizzas, along with staples like sandwiches, wraps, salads, pasta, gelato and a full bar.

LA Pizza Mia began as a creative concept from the executive culinary team at Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club before opening its first branded restaurant at 616 S. Lewis St. in the Centre Court Plaza in New Iberia about seven months ago.

“They started wanting to create pizzas over here at the club, and it just kind of turned into something bigger,” says Carly LeJeune, director of marketing and member relations at Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club. “We wanted to do a little something different with more local ingredients. And, in the past six months we’re already opening our second one, which is pretty exciting.”

The menu offers several traditional pizzas along with a few signatures pizzas using local ingredients like andouille sausage and gulf shrimp.

“We have pizzas and we have signature pizzas, which are kind of our own creations with a Louisiana spin,” says LeJeune. “We try to use local ingredients. And then we have sandwiches and wraps. We have salads and we’re adding soups as well. And then we’ve got some pretty cool appetizers, too.”

LeJeune describes the atmosphere at the restaurant's Broussard location as “whimsical, but local.”

“When you walk in it’s not going to be a ton of bright lights and bright colors everywhere,” she says. “We have our Louisiana Flag on the wall, and depending on our location we put pictures up of the local area.”

The New Iberia location features walls plastered with photos of the many landmarks in New Iberia while the Broussard location will have pictures reflective of the area as well as popular and historic images from Le Triomphe.

“When you walk in it’s really cool and kind of funky,” she adds.

The Broussard location will also offer service through the Waitr app beginning in November. The extra space in this location will also allow it to offer live music on weekends beginning in the near future.
