Pack & Paddle hosts Pint Night benefiting Team FarSight

Pack & Paddle is holding its Annual Pint Night this Friday that features live music and free beer, with a $15 donation. All proceeds from this year’s Pint Night goes to benefit long distance, blind hiker Trevor Thomas and his non-profit organization Team FarSight.

Team FarSight Foundation was founded in 2013 by the world’s only blind professional long distance hiker, Trevor Thomas, as a result of his own experiences going blind later in life and having to deal with lessened societal exceptions of blind people. Team FarSight Foundation is targeting the youth so they can affect the next generation and believes the blind do not need another welfare program or handout: they need to be given the tools necessary to compete in a world not designed for them.

Free signature pint glasses will be handed out to the first 200 guests through the door, along with free Smartwool socks handed out to the first 80 people through the door.

Beer will be provided by Bayou Teche Brewing, and music will be performed by Kristi Guillory and Anya Burgess from Bonsoir, Caitin.

Prizes will be raffled off including items from SPOT, Kuhl, Sweetwood, Gorilly Goods, Black Diamond and more.

There will also be a silent art auction featuring the work of local artists who are creating pieces in support of Team Farsight and this event.

Pack & Paddle 2016 will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, starting at 6 p.m. at Pack & Paddle. A $15 donation includes access to free beer, music, art auction, raffle ticket and more. For more information, visit www.PackPaddle.com.
