Reagan M. Brock has joined the firm of Thibodeaux Hebert Deshotels Leblanc as IT director.

Ideal Steel has announced the addition of Barry G. Nolan as chief engineer. Nolan was previously with American Steel Building Co. and Southern Structures and will help with the advancement of Ideal Steel's engineering and detailing department.

Russo Ad Group announced the hiring of Mimi Anselmo as account executive. Before moving to Lafayette, Anselmo worked with Walker, Texas Ranger in Irving, Texas.

Angela Ross has joined MidSouth Bank as retail store manager of the new River Ranch location, and Gloria Forrester Pearce will serve as bank officer and manager of the bank's Customer Care Center.

Leadership Lafayette is currently accepting applications for its class of 2006, beginning in January and ending in November. The program has been reformatted and will now include an in-depth examination of all aspects of our local community and state. Twenty-five candidates will be chosen to participate, and applications are available from the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and online at www.lafchamber.org.

IberiaBank has opened a new branch in Broussard at 1100 E. Main St, and Shiloh Kidder has been named branch manager. An official ribbon cutting was held Nov. 9.

V Gordon Salon and Day Spa is under new management in Abbeville and offers haircuts and styles, tanning, massage therapy, spa treatments with the SpaJet and more in its renovated location at 122 S. State St.

Robert Hodge has been installed as the 2005-06 president of the Acadiana Chapter of the Society of Louisiana CPAs. Timothy Faulk will serve as president-elect for 2006-07, Christine Dunn as secretary and Joseph Zanco as treasurer. Board of directors members are Diana Gary, Mark Herpin and Stacey Singleton.

Hurricanes Katrina and Rita resulted in the greatest cargo totals on record at Lafayette Regional Airport in September. The airport's incoming cargo reached more than 1.5 million pounds, including food, supplies and relief items for hurricane-affected areas. Outgoing cargo totaled almost 411,000 pounds.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System President Walter G. Bumphus was named CEO of the Year by the Association of Community College Trustees. Bumphus was awarded for his leadership skills, caring attitude and support for two-year post-secondary education agendas.

UL Lafayette's College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions was named a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing for creating environments that promote ongoing faculty development.

Web site MiekoMahi.com won a Gold Medal and Judges Award in the Art Directors Club of Houston contest. Mieko Mahi is an award-winning freelance photographer and videographer who works with Acadiana clients Stone Energy, Kaplan Advertising, C&C Technologies and BBR Creative.

Hospitality Basket LLC is providing its welcome services to newly relocated families free of charge. The services include a home visit and presentations about local business, community and civic information.

Law firm Laborde & Neuner donated $25,000 to individuals affected by Hurricane Katrina. The donation was divided between United Way of Acadiana's Katrina Evacuee Fund and the Hurricane Katrina Legal Community Relief Fund.

Nextel Partners is holding its fifth-annual Nextel Cans for a Cause holiday food drive through Dec. 7. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at local Nextel locations and will be donated to FoodNet and Food for Families.

Gulf Coast Bank helped Metairie-based Omni Bank serve displaced customers by offering space in its West Congress branch.
