Oil Center ushers in the holidays with Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights in Lafayette’s historic Oil Center returns this year with new features, activities, entertainment, and event partners.

The Festival of Lights, held annually on the first Friday in December in the Oil Center, will feature the lighting of Santa’s sleigh, children’s activities and crafts, Light and Learn with LAGCOE, photos with Santa, a horse and carriage ride, a candy cane hunt, face painting, live musical entertainment, carnival games, a living nativity, and more. Many retail shops will be open during the festival for holiday shopping. The festival attracts thousands of locals to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season in the historic Oil Center.

New for this year are Family packs, which are available for purchase on EventBrite.

The Small Family Pack is $25 and includes 30 tickets – applicable for activities that require tickets, food and beverage, t-shirts – photos with Santa, festival guide map, festival info, goodies from local merchants.

The Large Family Pack is $60 and includes 75 tickets, festival guide map, festival info, goodies from local merchants.

The Festival of Lights will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 from 5 - 9 p.m. in the Oil Center. The lighting of Santa’s sleigh above the LGMC Skywalk is scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is free. For more information and to purchase family packs in advance, please visit www.theoilcenter.com
