Best Bet: Ceux Qui Marchent Debout

This French funk ensemble plays amplified brass band instruments with brass band attitude, and you have three chances to hear them.

Just call them CQMD. Ceux Qui Marchent Debout — “Those Who Play Standing” en français — hails from Paris and brings a New Orleans brass band vibe with innovative sonic work-arounds to the stage Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the 2017 Festival International de Louisiane. With banjo, sousaphone, trumpet, trombone, saxophone and percussion, this Fest fave is known for its deeply and unrepentantly funky grooves and high energy.

They will perform — standing — at 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 28 at Scène LUS Internationale; 6:30 p.m. Saturday the 29th in the KATC TV3 Chat Room at the Acadiana Center for the Arts; and at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, April 30 at Scène Laborde Earles Fais Do Do.
