"Serious Sin" and "Wide Stance" defend marriage

Republican Senators David Vitter and Larry Craig are looking to defend marriage as "the union of a man and a woman," by co-sponsoring a bill that would amend the U.S. Constitution with that definition of marriage.

Last year, Vitter admitted to "a serious sin" after it his phone number turned up in the records of Washington, D.C. madam Deborah Palfrey.  A month earlier, Idaho senator Craig was arrested for lewd conduct in a men's bathroom in a Minnesota airport. (Craig later told police that his wide stance led to his foot finding its way into another bathroom stall.)
