Bobby Jindal recently said he will not be John McCain’s vice presidential running mate on the Republican ticket, but that’s not quelling national interest in Louisiana’s young policy-wonk governor who Rush Limbaugh has already crowned “the next Ronald Reagan.” The current issue of Details magazine includes a flattering feature on Jindal. Titled, “The Making of Bobby Jindal,” Details writes, “the 37-year-old governor of Louisiana is out to reinvent the Republican Party in his own slick, telegenic image. And if that means purging the GOP of its Dubya-era demons, no matter—he likes a good exorcism, too.” The men’s magazine explores Jindal’s upbringing, his conversion from Hindu to Catholicism and his rapid rise to the state’s highest post.
