The Press-Register in Mobile reports that a Lafayette man drowned yesterday afternoon in Orange Beach, Alabama. Ivan Linus Garzotto was with his family swimming in heavy surf from Tropical Storm Edouard when he disappeared. He was found 10 minutes later by a surfer and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

On Sunday, another Louisiana man drowned just east of Orange Beach in Perdido Key, Fla. Sam Maggio, 56, of Metairie was attempting to rescue a swimmer.
