MARDI GRAS, NOW AND THEN

As you read Scott Jordan's story of Mardi Gras 2006 in New Orleans ("A Flood of Emotions," March 8), it was filled with emotions and descriptions that played out like a narrative brought to life in images and pictures for all to see.

For an adult, a parent, children, a friend, a business and the krewes, the story was a balanced coverage of all aspects of evacuees' lives after Hurricane Katrina. His writing painted a portrait of people in the depths of sorrow and pain, joy of hopefulness and uncertainty of their future, but yet the sheer fun of sharing Mardi Gras together was clearly revealed.

This is an article worth saving to savor and share with family and friends in years to come ' a "now and then" of Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
