Vitter to face Storm?

by Nathan Stubbs

There’s been much speculation about who will challenge sex scandal plagued David Vitter in his 2010 re-election bid for U.S. Senate. The latest name to emerge: Stormy Daniels. That’s Baton Rouge exotic dancer turned adult film industry star Stormy Daniels , who is now being recruited to run against Vitter on the Web site draftstormy.com. According to the Web site, “2010 presents the Pelican State with the opportunity to start with a clean slate–to elect a representative that we can be proud of, who will work tirelessly, and who will challenge the status quo.We at the Draft Stormy campaign feel that Baton Rouge native Stormy Daniels is best suited to fulfill these duties. Stormy’s real world experience and special understanding of the economic hardships facing Louisianans and Americans make her uniquely qualified to take on the tough challenges we face.”

The Web site is likely the latest installment of a campaign that started last year with a pair of craigslist ads. While the first ad solicited a candidate, the second ad sought volunteers for the campaign, stating, “We have found our porn star, and she needs a staff.” Sure would be interesting to figure out who is behind this.
