In a travel piece today, The New York Times takes a look at the state of beer brewed in New Orleans and illustrates how the land of Falstaff, Jax, Regal and Dixie is giving way to Abita, Heiner Brau and NOLA Brewing Company.
Meet Henryk Orlik, a German native who owns and operates Heiner Brau in Covington and who also brews up beers for Zea Rotisserie & Grill and the Big Easy Brewing Co. There's also a trek out to Abita Springs for a tour of the Abita Brewing Co., and the final leg of the journey wraps up back in New Orleans at the new NOLA Brewing Co. on Tchoupitoulas Street.
