Barbecue and blues. What’s not to love? An Ocean Springs, Miss., stalwart dubbed The Shed, home of Oh Baby, Baby Backs, Serious Sausage, Pulled Pork and Walter “Wolfman” Washington (playing on Sept. 19), is coming to Scott. WLOX TV-13 in Biloxi reports that The Shed co-owners Brooke Lewis and Brad Orrison have inked a deal with Lafayette attorney Kaliste Saloom III and Frank Sonnier to open a Shed franchise in an 8,000 square foot building north of I-10 in Scott. I’d wager a brewski that’s in the old Ironhorse Saloon building, just past The Best Stop on La. 93 north.
Lafayette could sure use a honky-tonk smokin’ joint, and from what I can gather from The Shed’s Web site, this looks like the real deal — hardwood smoke, dry rub ribs, and a jelly jar full of honors from the Oxford, Miss. BBQ Throwdown. The Shed in Scott should be up and smokin’ by November, Orrison told WLOX. “The only thing we have to do is put in a smoker, junk it up Shed style, and we’re rolling.”
