The Lafayette Parish Democratic Executive Committee health care forum, featuring U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, Dr. Nellie August-Prudhomme and Dr. Mike Robichaux, will air on KLFY today at 4 p.m. The hour long event, moderated by Blue Rolfes with questions from audience members, was recorded live this past Saturday at the Clifton Chenier Center Auditorium.
The forum was born out of the local Democratic Party's protest of an all-Republican health care town hall last month with Louisiana Congressmen John Fleming, Bill Cassidy and Charles Boustany. In a press release issued yesterday, Lafayette Democratic Chairwoman Susannah Malbreaux states, "We only wanted viewers to have an opportunity to hear both sides of the health care reform issue. We are grateful to Senator Landrieu, Dr. Prudhomme, Dr. Robichaux and the management and staff of KLFY for enabling our side of this issue to get heard." The forum will also be broadcast in Shreveport and Lake Charles during the week.
