Former state Rep. Raymond "Lala" Lalonde has been elected to serve as chairman of the Lafayette Parish Republican Executive Committee for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1. Elected to serve alongside Lalonde are Michael Hebert (vice chairman), Stan Brosky (secretary) and Peggy Castille (treasurer).

The 14-member PEC meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Southside Branch of the Lafayette Public Library.
