Saints get home field throughout NFC playoffs

by Leslie Turk

Saints fans across the country cheered Jay Cutler's 39-yard touchdown pass to Devin Aromashodu in overtime of the Monday night matchup between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. The 36-30 Bears' victory locked up the No. 1 seed and home field advantage for the now-struggling Saints program throughout the NFC playoffs; the Saints had already secured a first round playoff bye. Coming off back-to-back losses, the 13-2 Saints hit the road to face the Carolina Panthers (7-8) Sunday.

Nick Roach's recovery of Adrian Peterson's fumble following a catch set up the winning TD. It was Cutler's fourth touchdown pass of the game -- and Minnesota's third loss in four games. Last night's nailbiter means the Vikings (11-4) have likely surrendered a first-round bye.
