Local patrons of classical ballet crowded the floor in the posh lobby of IberiaBank Tower for “Land of the Sweets” fundraiser. Guests took advantage of this annual opportunity to enjoy refreshments and mingle with the talented stars of The Nutcracker, produced by Lafayette Ballet Theatre with guest artists from Pacific Northwest Ballet. LBT board members Marilyn Lee and Mary Cain chaired the event, and numerous contributors included IberiaBank, CC’s Community Coffee House, Zoës Kitchen, Allen Breaux Studio, Pizza Hut, Acadiana Bottling Co. and Lowry’s Printing. Proceeds benefited the Lafayette Ballet Theatre, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing classical ballet instruction, educational programs and quality stage performances to Acadiana residents.
Friends of Sharon and Sarah Moss, Pauline Gerami and others gathered over lunch to share some good food and Christmas cheer in the weeks leading up to the holidays. This was the second year for the growing group of ladies, who dined Dutch treat on yummy lobster bisque and shrimp salads in the private dining room at Ruth’s Chris (Sharon treated all to some bubbly!). Among the guests were Sarah Citron, Liz Webb, Karen Daigle, Crystall Young, Carole Ann Piccione, Kathy Zimmerman and Secret Santa, of course.
