2nd Annual Rudolph Run Rescheduled

by Dege Legg

The 2nd Annual Rudolph Run has been rescheduled for Jan. 16 at Parc Sans Souci. The run offers a good way to get in shape after the holidays. Preregister for this family-friendly and festive run in downtown Lafayette.

In observance of the New Orleans Saints playoff game, the 1-mile fun run will begin at 1 p.m. and the 5K will follow at 1:30 p.m. The Cajun Road Runners Club will be on site to facilitate the race. It is sponsored by Cal Chlor and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.

Participants are invited to enter individually or as a family. Runners are encouraged to get into the spirit of the New Year by dressing in costume for the race. In addition to awards for best time, entrants can vie for the coveted best costume award, which includes gift certificates from downtown businesses. The costume contest theme is Baby New Year and Father Time.

Registration is $25 in advance and $30 on race day for adults and $20 early registration and $25 on race day for children 10 and under.  The official Rudolph Run t-shirt is included in the registration fee. To register online and for more information, visit www.DowntownLafayette.org, or register onsite beginning at 11:30 p.m.
