Cinema on the Bayou rolls out the red carpet

Acadiana’s Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival returns for its fifth installment. Beginning on Jan. 28 and running through Jan. 31 various films will be screened at venues in and around Lafayette. The festival will include a retrospective of seven films by Québécois filmmaker André Gladu as well as host independent filmmakers from Houston, Corpus Christi, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette. At Cité des Arts, three Zydeco music films will be screened along with a panel discussion on Zydeco music with music critic Herman Fuselier, musician Nathan Williams, and author Roger Wood. Other highlights include screenings of more cutting edge indie films like October Country by Portland, Oregon filmmakers Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher.
