Slots are still available for anyone interested in viewing a Web-based seminar on deconsolidation being hosted Tuesday by the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. Slots are still available for anyone interested in viewing a Web-based seminar on deconsolidation being hosted Tuesday by the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. The event comes on the heels of chamber leadership urging the Lafayette City-Parish Council to table an ordinance that would put the question of scrapping the city-parish charter before voters in November. If that ordinance passes - the CPC will vote on it March 9 - and voters approve the referendum this fall, Lafayette would return to the dual city and parish forms of government that were in place prior to 1996.

The Webinar is titled "The Unknowns of Undoing' Consolidation" and will be hosted by chamber President Rob Guidry and Vice President of Governmental Relations Bruce Conque, himself a former member of the CPC. Reserve a "seat" at the Webinar by logging onto the chamber's Web site. To find out more, call 408-3655.
