Th city-parish president will be in Scott Monday evening to host a town hall meeting about the City-Parish Home Rule Charter. City-Parish President Joey Durel will be in Scott Monday evening to host a town hall meeting about the City-Parish Home Rule Charter and specifically the prospect of repealing the charter and returning to separate city and parish forms of government. It is the fourth such meeting on Durel's town hall schedule; meetings are also planned for April 12 at the South Regional Library in Lafayette and April 26 at the North Regional.

The theme for the town hall meetings is "Lafayette Consolidated Charter: Is it Working for You, Why or Why Not?" Durel has heard both sides of the argument for repealing the charter, first at a March 22 meeting at the Clifton Chenier Center that was overwhelmingly pro-deconsolidation; at week later at the Youngsville Library, residents with equal vigor supported maintaining consolidated government.
