The biannual Expo Acadie will be held in Lafayette during Festival International de Louisiane with several events at the Holidome.

The opening ceremony will be held Friday morning, but a workshop, "Collaborative Strategies in Community Development," will get a jump on the opening with a 9 a.m.-3 p.m. event on Thursday. Also planned for Friday at the Holidome are a music and arts exhibit, a luncheon, as well as book presentations by Germaine Comeau and Warren Perrin.

The first Expo Acadie, an international trade fair designed to connect businesses and entrepreneurs within the Acadian diaspora, was help in 2004 in conjunction with the Congrès Mondial Acadien. It has been held every other year since, including in 2008 in Nova Scotia. This year's expo, according to organizers, is "centered on the commercialisation of educational and cultural products and services." It's all about networking.
