City Court Judge Francie Bouillon will formally announce her candidacy for the Third Circuit Court of Appeal during a press conference at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22.

Bouillon, an independent, joins a field that includes three Republicans, District Judge Phyllis Keaty and attorneys Jeanne Laborde and Buzz Durio. The candidates are vying to fill a vacancy on the court created by the death of Judge Mike Sullivan late last year. The special election is October 2, with a runoff, if necessary, in November. Qualifying will be held in July.
