Saying that the lessons of Katrina are going unheeded, former Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco is speaking out about the state's response to the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. In interviews with the Associated Press and with local news channel KATC, Blanco says she'd like to see a more organized and unified front working to mitigate the disaster - a criticism she frequently faced in the aftermath of Katrina. "I don't think the state does have its act together," Blanco tells KATC. The former governor says there is too much concern over funding when the state should be focused on taking action, and sorting out the bills later. "That was the main lesson I learned from Katrina," she says. "You don't wait."
