While Gov. Bobby Jindal has maintained his silence on the highly charged U.S. Senate race between Republican David Vitter and Democrat Charlie Melancon, he has endorsed Republican candidate Jerry Moran in the Kansas Senate election.

This after stating a month ago that he wasn't going to get involved in federal races. "Voters can make up their own minds," Jindal told The Advocate on Sept. 5.

However, The Advocate reported in Sept., that "Jindal was a special guest' at a 2008 fundraiser for the congressional campaign of now-U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge. The governor also endorsed Woody Jenkins in his failed bid for the 6th U.S. Congressional District seat."

Jindal's spokesman, Kyle Plotkin, ignored repeated questions Monday, according to WDSU,  about why the governor has chosen to endorse a candidate elsewhere but won't offer recommendations to voters at home.

Plotkin's only response to the endorsement questions was in the form of an email to the AP: "If we decide to endorse someone, we'll let you know."
