While incoming tea party-affiliated GOP congressmen have vowed to change Washington, that doesn't mean they're not also willing to let the good times roll.

While incoming tea party-affiliated GOP congressmen have vowed to change Washington, that doesn't mean they're not also willing to let the good times roll. Outside the Beltway is among the political blogs reporting that a group of 12 freshmen Republicans, several of whom are also aligned with the tea party including Louisiana's Jeff Landry, have formed an organization called America's New Majority, which is the sponsor of a "swearing-in event" for newly-elected Republicans at the posh W hotel in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 4.

Country music star LeAnn Rimes, whose recent performances with gay men's choruses and much-publicized adultery make her an unlikely choice for a "family values" crowd, headlines the evening's entertainment. Tickets to the event are advertised at $2,500 apiece. Those willing to put down $50,000 can become a "Platinum Sponsor" and receive eight tickets, a VIP lunch and VIP suite at the hotel.
