Lawyers, judges and friends gathered at Lafayette Bar Association's beautifully decorated Johnston Street headquarters for its packed-to-capacity Christmas party. Servers from á la carte passed around fabulous hors d'oeuvres, and partygoers got in the holiday spirit with libations from the open bar and wine/champagne table. Kenny Oliver's festive Christmas tie and Ed Marquet's tiger-flocked purple shirt topped the best-dressed list for the fête.
Artists and art lovers gathered at the Lafayette Art Association's gallery on East St. Mary Boulevard for its fabulous holiday social. Guests mingled and perused local artisans' works, including watercolors, oils, photographs, metals, glass and jewelry. A highlight was the tribute to watercolor painter Sara Parker ("Sparker") lovingly sung by the association to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas."
Cars lined up around the block for the annual All-Female Open House hosted by Barbara Black, Helen Mendel Barnes and Sylvia Lowe. Black's beautiful Twin Oaks home was the venue for this year's boisterous event attended by well-dressed ladies from Lafayette and beyond. Wowing the crowd were Janie Campbell in a striking red fur-lined coat, Eleanor Patout in her classic mink and bejeweled handbag, and hostess Barnes in a rich burgundy velvet ensemble.
