The City-Parish Council was originally scheduled to consider a resolution naming Ottinger's replacement - longtime assistant city-parish attorney Mike Hebert - on Jan. 25. City-parish attorney Pat Ottinger has agreed to stay on as Lafayette Consolidated Government's chief legal advisor for an extra week. The City-Parish Council was originally scheduled to consider a resolution naming Ottinger's replacement - longtime assistant city-parish attorney Mike Hebert - on Jan. 25. Hebert, however, will be out of town on a previously scheduled trip; the council will vote on giving him the job on Feb. 1.

"The only thing that is a little bit disconcerting is Pat has done such a great job and is such big shoes to fill," Hebert says, hailing Ottinger for laying a solid foundation in LCG's legal department. "I don't know of anything of significance that I intend to do differently from what Pat has already done."
