LCEF-HI hosts second MusiCares dental clinic for music professionals

he Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation's Healthcare Initiative (LCEF-HI) will again be a co-sponsor and host of a free dental clinic for all area music professionals. Good news for music professionals without dental insurance: the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation's Healthcare Initiative (LCEF-HI) will again be a co-sponsor and host of a free dental clinic for all area music professionals on March 1. The dental clinic will be held at the LCEF-HI office located in the Acadiana Center for the Arts at 101 W. Vermilion in downtown Lafayette.

This free dental clinic will be open to all area music professionals including musicians, music producers, sound engineers and roadies. The dental services are being brought to Lafayette by LCEF-HI in partnership with MusiCares, the service division of the Recording Academy, the national Smile Program and the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

The previous dental clinic held Dec. 6, 2010 was such a success over 40 musicians were provided with not only dental X-rays and cleaning, but actual services as well they've decided to host another round.

Potential participants must schedule an appointment to receive these free dental services.  Appointments can be made by calling MusiCares at 1-877-626-2748 or emailing [email protected] or [email protected]. LCEF's Economic Opportunity Fund grant program encourages entrepreneurial risk, innovation and economic growth for cultural individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
