Hopefest keeps the hope alive

by Dege Legg

St. Thomas More High School celebrates another year of faith, hope and love at Parc International on Feb. 19.

Keep hope alive. Good old positivity and hope never hurt when you factor it into the equation of life. On that note, St. Thomas More High School's junior class is hosting another installment of their annual Hopefest in downtown Lafayette.

The festival is a celebration of faith, hope and love with local music entertainment, great food, games, a silent auction and fun for the whole family. Live music will be provided by the Shawn and Lance Band, the McKenzie Bourg Band featuring Sydney Sonnier, Wooden Wings and more. In addition, there will be fun jumps, face painting and a gaming tent. The silent auction will feature local art, signed Saints memorabilia, jewelry, a health club membership, and more.

Proceeds for this year's Hopefest will benefit the STM Options program for special needs students and the homeless and poor of Acadiana through Catholic Service Centers. Hopefest takes place on Feb. 19 in Parc International in downtown Lafayette from noon to 7 p.m.
