Downtown Alive! kicks off spring 2011 season

DTA kicks off their spring 2011 season with the Andy Smith Band in Parc International.

Downtown Alive! kicks off their spring 2011 season tonight in Parc International with the Andy Smith Band. For nearly a quarter century, The Andy Smith Band has performed on stages across the U.S. and abroad. The group first appeared on the DTA stage in 1989 when the series was located on the 700 block of Jefferson Street in downtown Lafayette.

Hailing from New Iberia, the Andy Smith Band brings a variety of covers and an accomplished level of musicianship to the stage.

For 27 years, Downtown Alive! has united community and culture to create a weekly tradition and celebration in Downtown Lafayette every fall and spring, offering great entertainment in the form of free, family-friendly, smoke free, outdoor concerts.

Sponsored by Cox Communications, Lafayette Coca-Cola and Lets Be Totally Clear, DTA! features performances by musicians representing a variety of genres. DTA begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage concessions. Musical performances begin at 6 p.m. and run till 8:30 p.m.
