It's the king of all garage sales. The annual Seven-Mile Yard Sale, between Arnaudville and Grand Coteau is back. The sale stretches along Hwy. 93 and takes place throughout both towns. Everyone is invited to set up tables to sell anything - kitchen appliances, tools, plants, handmade gifts, whatever. Vendors are invited to call and reserve a space. A yard sale could be a great fundraiser for church and school groups or even a gang of jokers looking to go on a road trip. In addition, many of the gift shops along the route will feature special sales as well as food and fun stuff. The Seven-Mile Yard Sale takes place on March 19, 7 a.m. 4 p.m. For more information, call 662-4002 or 662-1032.

ATTN doom boys, underage speed wheelers, snuff dealers and feeble fish squeezers. Here's a killer show to attend. It will make you feel less alone in the world and stave off "feelings of sadness, anxiety, emptiness, hopelessness, worthlessness, guilt, irritability or restlessness." Tombs is black-heavy, charbroiled blast furnace plunge. Wormrot is Asian fusion grind meets wolfburger. Louisiana bands Wildfires, This Horrible Machine and Survive the Musical rotor heavy, drill bit rumble to beef queef open the show on March 21 at Frankie's on Jefferson Street. This is an all ages show, starting at 8 p.m. Cover is $6 till 10 p.m. After that, it's $8. Go.

MONSTER MASH**
They're monster trucks. You like them big, loud, and crunchy. Why have it any other way? Sure you like to write poetry, read Proust, and sip tea in the late afternoon with friends but secretly, what you really want to do is drive a monster truck. Park that thing outside the poetry reading, rev the engine, and then hop out with your book of poems and read them to the enlightened folks. That's the way to go. This is a little poem I call "Ground Pounder," formerly known as "War Wizard." Cajundome hosts the Monster Jam monster truck show on March 19 & 20. Grave Digger, Ice Monster and all the other famous monster trucks will be there tearing it up. Bust it, fool.
POST-DTA / ANTLER'S
He's the cool duke of backroad blues and ragged roots and he's come to melt faces, move buttocks, and slang guitar licks. That's how he works. Since releasing his deconstructed blues masterpiece, The American Electric, Michael Juan Nunez and his band have been burning up the road miles in the Deep South, playing numerous shows in the region. He brings it all back home to Antler's on March 18. There is no better restaurant bar to hang out at after Downtown Alive is over than Antler's. Good food. Good people. Good music. And I'm not just saying that because they hook me up with bacon now and then when I'm hungry in the mornings. Do it.

Here's a challenge. Make a three-minute movie in three days, using three plot points, a random person, an off-the-wall place and an obscure object. If that sounds like the kind of creative challenge you'd be interested in, head over to AOC on March 18 and sign up to participate.
