Toasted earth policy

Green thumbs forgo clutching hoes for mimosas on Sunday, April 3 in a charitable benefit at Esprit de Coeur.

In a benefit for EarthShare Gardens, Esprit de Coeur is teaming up with Pamplona's Tapas Bar to throw a brunch. Everything being served will be gathered from local farms and other resources. The idea is to gather interest in EarthShare's organization, which promotes learning about horiculture and healthful eating through gathering volunteers and shareholders for their community and donation gardens.

Eggs Benedict, spinach quiche, shrimp and grits with collard greens, French toast stuffed with strawberries, beet salad with goat cheese and gelato are a few of the menu items from Executive Chef Craig Crosby of Pamplona's. A plant sale and silent auction will be available.

Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 3. Tickets are $50 if you are over the age of 12, then $10 for kids age 6 to 12 and free if they are more wee than that. Ring 269-4901 for your tickets or hit up EarthShare Garden's site for more information.
