Delta Media of Carencro orchestrated an event that brought back great memories for Party Girl March 31 in River Ranch's Town Square. Parent company of Snap 103.7 and Kool 107.1, Delta celebrated the consolidation of the stations by bringing in legendary Louisiana's LeRoux for a free concert before an estimated crowd of 7,000 people. Members of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, LeRoux is known for its unique brand of Louisiana rock and classic hits from the late '70s and early '80s including "New Orleans Ladies," "Take A Ride on a Riverboat," "Nobody Said it Was Easy," "Addicted," and "Carrie's Gone." Founding member and bassist Leon Medica, now a Nashville producer and songwriter, told Party Girl he was thrilled to bring the band back to Lafayette and says he enjoyed spending the day visiting with old friends and eating good Cajun food. In addition to founding members Medica, Tonya Hazelden and Rod Roddy, the band now features longtime members Jim Odom, Nelson Blanchard, Mark Duthu and Randy Carpenter along with Scott native Keith Landry on lead vocals. Landry spent many years as a vocalist for legendary rockers Toto, and got the crowd excited with his rendition of Toto's "Hold The Line." In addition to the LeRoux performance, the Kool Snap party also included a performance by Seven Horse Tango, a group of young local musicians and a rousing performance of the "Second Line Song" featuring LeRoux, Seven Horse Tango and a horn ensemble from the Performing Arts Academy at Lafayette High School. The show was sponsored by River Ranch Development, City Club at River Ranch, Service Chevrolet, ABC Insurance and Aggreko.
