You may not run your own beer company or supervise those who make it, but you can pretend for one night while filling yourself full of some of the most talented chefs in Acadiana's offerings. The Acadiana Center for the Arts is holding its third annual Brewmasters' Dinner a week from today and you're invited.
Starting with cocktails in the AcA's atrium at 6 p.m. on June 30, this is a precursor to the big Gulf Brew festival held yearly in the park downtown, this year on July 23. The festival as well as this special dinner focus on beer that hails from the Gulf Coast.
This dinner is $75 per seat or $550 for a table for eight. It is a six-course meal and each will have a beer represented to compliment it. Each chef from a local restaurant will prepare one of the courses. Patrons will get to vote on which course is the best based on presentation, taste and balance with the beer chosen for that course. Last year's winner was chef Heath Lemoine of Zea Rotisserie and Grill, who will be presenting a course again. Joining him will be chef Craig Crosby (Pamplona Tapas Bar), Justin Girouard (The French Press), Toon Nguyen (Tsunami) and Nash Barreca (Nash's Restaurant). The dinner will be served in AcA's James Devin Moncus Theater at 7 p.m.
