Party Girl 06.29.11

The 2011 "A Taste of Lafayette," featuring great cuisine from 35 of Cajun Country's finest restaurants, kicked off the EatLafayette campaign at the AcA. The event introduced the new Fly Lafayette Club with "boarding passes" as entry tickets and smiling "flight attendants" from Event Staffing greeting the capacity crowd. Guests sipped an assortment of beer from Bayou Teche Brewing, wines from Glazer and soft drinks from Coca-Cola while sampling the delicious delicacies from Lafayette's favorite dining establishments and a few newbies like ThiboDough's Breads and Bagels (love the name). Party Girl especially loved the Lasagna Bolognese from Antoni's, spicy gumbo from Charley G's, pulled pork sandwiches from 2 Paul's and barbecue ribs from Country Cuisine. At dessert time, patrons lined up for Bailey's delicious bread pudding. From the second floor, Rio Luminoso, led by famed photographer/musician Philip Gould, entertained the appreciative audience. The festive event was the kickoff for EatLafayette, which runs through Aug. 15 and offers great specials from 57 locally owned restaurants.
