Jazz at the Center series debuts downtown

Acadiana Center of the Arts adds another magic trick to their magician's top hat by hosting a jazz series in the Moncus Theater.

AcA's Jazz at the Center series aims to turn the theater into a metropolitan jazz club where patrons can enjoy drinks with table service. Contemporary jazz musicians of international reknown are performing. There will be a series of five shows spanning through spring of 2012:

Oct. 14, John Pizzarelli
Oct. 29, Rondi Charleston Quintet
Jan. 20, Fred Hersch Trio
March 16, Hot Club of Detroit
May 18, Dr. Michael White

A season pass for all five shows is $215 for VIP table seating and $155 for regular table seating. Tickets for the mezzanine are sold the day of the shows.
