Claiming that Facebook policies run afoul of federal and state statutes, an East Baton Rouge Parish woman has filed a federal lawsuit against the social networking website seeking unspecified damages, according to The Advocate.
Janet Seamon, through her attorney, former Louisiana Attorney General Richard Ieyoub, claims in the suit that Facebook's practice of collecting personal information on its users violates the federal Wiretap Act as well as the Louisiana Electronic Surveillance Act and the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act.
The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company had no comment regarding the suit as of Monday.
