Tucker yet to concede sec. of state race

Louisiana's term-limited House speaker tells a New Orleans TV station that he'll wait until the voting machines are opened and tabulated by local election officials before acknowledging defeat.

Louisiana House Speaker Jim Tucker, R-Terrytown, is holding off conceding his apparent defeat by roughly 8,500 votes Saturday to Tom Schedler in the election for secretary of state. While the term-limited lawmaker has congratulated Schedler in a Facebook post and says he doubts the outcome will change, he tells a New Orleans TV station that he'll wait until the voting machines are opened and tabulated by local election officials before conceding.
