Sin with saints at AcA

This Thursday keep the Halloween spirit alive, as well as the philantroptic spirit, with a masquerade ball at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

AcA is starting a new tradition with the launch of its Saints & Sinners Masquerade Bash. Come dressed in true masquerade form by wearing a costume that masks who you are or simply come in cocktail attire.

Tickets are $125 for two or $75 per person. The price includes hors d'oeuvres and cocktails and goes from 7-11 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 3.

"The James D. Moncus Theater will be designed like the underworld, in black and reds, says Kate Waxley, AcA's marketing coordinator. "The rest of AcA will be decorated light and airy as contrast. We will have specialty cocktails that go with this theme." There will also be a photo booth, tarot card readings, both live and silent auctions with artwork by local artists like Philip Gould. A stay in a Florida vacation home will also be offered.

The heavy hors d'oeuvres are provided by French Press and iMonelli. The open bar is being provided by Glazer Distribution, and New Orleans cover band Bag of Donuts entertains. The cover band that has been around since 1988, playing greatest hits from the 1960s to today. Bag of Donuts gets started at 8:30 p.m.
