Local speaker, coach and writer Aileen Bennett has gone even more global than an Englishwoman living in Louisiana already is: her work now appears on Lifehacker.com.

Lifehacker is a division of Gawker Media out of New York and focuses on the newest, latest and greatest in inventions and technology. Creative people and tech nerds are devoted to its motto, "Tips and downloads for getting things done." The whole of Gawker Media generates millions of hits per day.

Originally from London where she won "Most Humorous Speaker in the UK and Ireland," Bennett has lived in Lafayette for the past several years. She is a columnist for several publications and works with local businesses and individuals helping them create and implement new ideas.

"I rent out my brain to help businesses with creativity, communication and corporate culture," she said to us this morning, describing her career.

Bennett is more than full of ideas. She believes in them. To facilitate this she created what she calls "The Idea Table." Basically, imagine if Post-It notes were 1- times the size and fit nicely over a small table, and you could rip the huge sheets off at a whim. That is what Bennett created using an Ikea table and specially cut paper. Lifehacker's reposting of her blog describing its creation has garnered her lots of national and international interest.

Her latest book, Using People, was published this year and is available here.
